Jillian slept last night from 9pm to 5:30 this AM. She woke up smiling and babbling. It is fun to dress her up. She doesn't mind at all. She is stylin' in China. Today we wentr to a local office to give our financial donation to the orphanage. Jillian was footprinted, we were interviewed and had a picture taken as a family. It is official, she is ours!!!!!!!
The weather is nice 60's and sunny. Icarried Jillian in a Snuggli carrier on me. She faced away from me and watched all the sights. Pedestrians have no right of way so you take your life in your hands. There are no traffic lights or signs on street corners...it is a free for all..cars, trucks,buses,motorbikes,bicycles and us poor pedestrians. It is chaotic and scary. People stare at us as though we are from planet Mars. We just ignore it. Jillian is experiencing so so much. I don't beleive she's ever been out of the orphanage since she arrived to it. She's lovin' life.
Believe it or not, Jillian is potty trained. She hadn'tdone poopy for two days and someone suggested getting an infant potty. We bought one for 10 bucks, put her on it and voila(1 and 2). Just amazing!?
I think I may have mentioned that Jillian had a physical with the US doctor and she is one of the healthiest in the bunch. Most of the other babies have colds and ear aches. As she compares to other chinese babies she is in the 60 percentile for weight, 75 percentile for height, and the 10th percentile for head circumference. The doctor said not to worry because her head has alot of room to grow. I forget what word she used.
She is the peanut in the group.
We just got word that we may travel to the orphanage which is 2 hours away by bus. Paul would like to videotape in case Jillian would like this info. when she is older. we will be going on Thursday.
Jillian has bonded with both Paul & I already. She just seems so comfortable. I am so pleased. I can't wait for everyone to meet her. she's not only beautiful but she has a great personality. I believe she got alot of attention at the orphanage. She was well taken care of. We met the nanny she was so sweet.

All I can say is WOW!!!!!!!!!! A good sleeper and potty trained. I think us U.S. moms should take some training classes from the Chinese moms. They have it figured out! How wonderful that she is loving the outside world and that is isn't too overwhelming for her. I have heard that is the hardest part sometimes.....but she is sailing right through it!
What great news that she is healthy....she just looks it. Healthy skin and shiny eyes...I thought that you would get a good report, but how nice to confrim it!
I think she will love having the video of her orphanage someday.....what a great idea.

WOW after reading 'your second day' with Jillian it sounds as if you have all bonded really well. How exciting for you. Great newss that she is healthy. She does have bright eyes and clear skin and it's wonderful that she has a happy personality. Can't wait to meet her.

Hello Mazzola Family! Jillian fits right in...so great to see the new pictures, looks like a fantastic 2nd day! Jillian will be in the Guiness Book of Baby Records with being potty-trained already! Sleeping through the night is another plus! I LOVE seeing all of you looking so happy...well worth the wait. Enjoy your night and we'll look forward to more pictures...love her outfits!
